Lut Desert is one of the most interesting features in the world view point of wind erosion forms and some geomorphologic features, such as sand dune, Yardangs and desert pavement. In this study, we used 7 bands of Landsat TM data and colour composites dated 1987 and 1988, aerial photos (1/20.000) topographic maps (1/250.000 and 1/50.000) field work and remotely sensed softwares. The obtained results have shown that 6 TM reflective bands and TM thermal band are very usefull in the study of water resources, soil surface moisture and rivers. The result of principal component analysis and other image processing have shown that remotely sensed data are very usefull in the study of Lut desert in a manner of time and money saving.
