Rural sustainable development is special steps to sustainable development. Such goals may be specified at a variety of scales and many objectives may be set for various aspects of rural settlements. In the geographical studies recognize space factor and the human and environmental interaction is very important.It is basic steps of geographical research and determines environmental capabilities.Geographical Information System (GIS) can help to recognize space, environmental analysis, modeling and mapping of digital spatial information.
This paper argued about methods use of (GIS) for environmental analysis, determination of capability geographical space, as basic needs of rural and regional planning. This study had analyzed of existing rural settlement patterns in the Torbat-e- Haydarieah as a rural region and the aim is to arrive to suitable rural settlement distribution and hierarchical rural settlement. In this paper layers of space information and non-space information that used for determine space capability and index, standards, and variables used to determine the best location for rural centers had argued.
