These two geopolitical aspects, which like a two-faced Janus have opened new areas of study for the scholars and researchers of the field of geopolitics and political geography have brought about significant repercussions in the Middle East region. Generally speaking, these paradoxical implications have emerged in five geopolitical, territorial, demographic-ethnic, military-security, political-governmental, and geoeconomical dimensions within the context of the Greater Middle East Initiative. This article mainly argues that geopolitical developments occurring in the region arises from the change in the outlook of the international system towards the Middle East and refers to the principal core of the new international system, that is the security of the international system. Keywords: Greater Middle East, September 11th Events, Geostrategic Implications, Globalization, Political Islam, به طورکلی پیامدهای ژئوپلیتیکی حادثه ی یازدهم سپتامبر در دو جهت کاملاً مخالف خودنمایی کرده است: نخست برجسته شدن ابعاد نظری و عینی مقولة «مرز» از جنبة ژئواکونومیک، و دوّم کمرنگ شدن این ابعاد از جنبة ژئواستراتژیک. این دو بعد ژئوپلیتیکی که همچون ژانوس دو چهره ای عرصة مطالعاتی جدیدی را پیش روی صاحب نظران و محققین حوزة ژئوپلیتیک و جغرافیای سیاسی گشوده، آثار و پیامدهای عمده ای در منطقة خاورمیانه داشته است. در یک مبحث جمع بندی شده، این آثار و پیامدهای متعارض در قالب پنج بعد ژئوپلیتیکی سرزمینی، جمعیتی_قومی، نظامی_امنیتی، سیاسی_ حکومتی و ژئواکونومیکی در قالب طرح خاورمیانه بزرگ ظاهر شده است. استدلال اصلی مقاله آن است که تحوّلات ژئوپلیتیکی ایجادشده در منطقة، ناشی از تغییر نگرش نظام بین الملل نسبت به منطقه ی خاورمیانه و معطوف به اصلی ترین هستة نظام بین الملل جدید یعنی «امنیت نظام بین الملل» است. واژگان کلیدی: خاورمیانة بزرگ، پیامدهای ژئواستراتژیک، جهانی شدن، اسلام سیاسی، سیاست موازنه قوا. https://jrg.ut.ac.ir/article_17812_9b9eb5836df5ece0d2cc702f8d6dde9b.pdf
